Shoreline, Washington Logo Design

Nearly every new Shoreline business professional knows they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully realize the crucial role their organization’s logo can play in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo works better than another. A logo design has an immediate and long-term impact on the growth of a business, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Shoreline, Washington businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be timeless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.
Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Shoreline, Washington coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening up in an old section of the town and wanted to visualize a retro atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished the two tasks by means of creating a symbol design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria designed for Shoreline, Washington clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping green frog created for a household enjoyable facility in Shoreline, Washington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Shoreline, Washington travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather communicate emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Shoreline logo design but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Shoreline logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to share it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get honest assessments on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo understand how crucial a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s share of challenges, but the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Shoreline, Washington book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most vital part of a published book given that it is usually the very first thing a person views in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go nevertheless it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the items individuals usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a spirit of flight and it was certainly a winner.

Shoreline logo style made use of for advertising and marketing and also a label design for Vintage Instance includes an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this business logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Shoreline, Washington, layout include an arc with lines converging with it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that every single dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo which conveyed a feeling of calmness and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of creating just a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo design that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is more often than not the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the emphasis on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo style for a software application programmer the style features and also renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo style including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell off their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Shoreline business logo dsign utilizing an illustration that pulls in the attention of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t actually created for an Shoreline, Washington regional farm it was really created for a commodities broker, and this logo was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to make a brand mark that projected self-assurance, success, and wealth.

Shoreline Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for ostensibly facing arrow as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the first go.

Logo design designed for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is evocative a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the business owner to design a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
