Shoreline, Washington Logo Design

Each and every new Shoreline company realizes that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners entirely recognize the crucial role their logo will take in their success, or the reason that one logo functions better than another. A logo has an instant and long-term effect on the prosperity of a company, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Shoreline, Washington companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bike created for a Shoreline, Washington coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were opening in an older section of the city and wished to cast a nostalgic vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks via creating a business logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also germs developed for Shoreline, Washington medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which works with the clinical examination of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a household enjoyable center in Shoreline, Washington.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Shoreline, Washington travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead project emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Shoreline logo design but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Shoreline logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members did not share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral assessments on the value of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how important a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s portion of difficulties, however the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Shoreline, Washington publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most important part of a printed book given that it is usually the primary thing a person sees in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go nevertheless it seems that in many occurrences one of the things people tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a spirit of airline flight and it was certainly a success.

Shoreline logo style made use of for advertising and marketing and a label design for Vintage Case features an archaic font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this logo design I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Shoreline, Washington, layout consist of an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects because it appears that virtually every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to describe exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo which carried an atmosphere of ease and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is frequently the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the attention on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software program programmer the design attributes and also legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the substance behind a logo design is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to market their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Shoreline logo design dsign using an illustration that garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually developed for an Shoreline, Washington regional farm it was actually devised for a commodities broker, and this business logo was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to design a graphic that projected esteem, financial success, and affluence.

Shoreline Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for ostensibly encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the opportunity to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo created for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is similar to a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a logo design which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
