Spanaway Logo Design

Virtually every new Spanaway business knows they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners fully realize the crucial role their logo will make in their success, or why one logo design performs more effectively than another. A logo design has a critical and long-term impact on the success of a business, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Spanaway companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Spanaway coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were launching in an older part of the community and wished to cast an old-fashioned feel without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks via developing a company logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and also germs made for Spanaway clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which deals with the clinical examination of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I recollect where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family members enjoyable facility in Spanaway.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Spanaway traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Spanaway logo but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Spanaway logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but the client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their business logo comprehend how crucial a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo job has it’s portion of difficulties, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Spanaway book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most important part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the first thing a person views in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems like that in many instances 1 of the aspects consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a sense of airline flight and it was surely a winner.

Spanaway logo design utilized for marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Situation includes an archaic font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this business logo design I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Spanaway, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that every single dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a hair style studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo that communicated a feeling of contentment and class for their new hair salon. I created a design that did not go the obvious direction of creating simply a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo design which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is usually the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software programmer the design attributes and also renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to market their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Spanaway logo design dsign using an image that grabs the attention of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo layout has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t actually created for an Spanaway regional farm it was actually created for a products broker, and this business logo was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to produce a graphic that projected assurance, success, and affluence.
Logo design made for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to produce a business logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
