Spokane, Washington Logo Design

Nearly every new Spokane company realizes that they require a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly understand the vital role their organization’s logo can perform in their becoming successful, or why one logo works more effectively than another. A logo has an immediate and long-term impact on the financial success of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a business.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Spokane, Washington businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand consideration, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to posters a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be enduring and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.
Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Spokane, Washington coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were launching in an older part of the area and really wanted to project a nostalgic vibe without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both tasks by means of creating a symbol design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and also bacteria developed for Spokane, Washington medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that works with the clinical examination of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo design with a jumping green frog designed for a household enjoyable center in Spokane, Washington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - developed for Spokane, Washington traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather communicate emotional experiences by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Spokane logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Spokane logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to share it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the value of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design recognize how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of obstacles, but the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Spokane, Washington book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, however it really is the most vital part of a published book given that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person sees in the book store. With regard to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many cases one of the items consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a sense of airline flight and it was surely a success.

Spokane logo style utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Instance includes an old font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be antique cases. For this logo design I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Spokane, Washington, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects considering that it appears that each and every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo which projected a feeling of simplicity and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious path of making simply a stylized orchid but rather designed a business logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is usually the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the importance on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software application designer the style attributes and also famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Spokane logo dsign with a graphic which seizes the attention of traffic and sends an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t really produced for an Spokane, Washington area farm it was actually created for a products broker, and this brand was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to design a brand mark that projects confidence, success, and prosperity.

Spokane Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design function for externally dealing with arrow as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the flexibility to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo developed for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is evocative a well-known sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
