Spokane, Washington Logo Design

Every new Spokane company understands that they need a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly recognize the vital role their business logo can play in their success, or exactly why one business logo works far better than another. A business logo has an immediate and long term impact on the success of a company, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a business.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Spokane, Washington companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from labels to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.
Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Spokane, Washington coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an older section of town and wanted to impart an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks by means of designing a logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria developed for Spokane, Washington medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which works with the clinical assessment of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a leaping green frog made for a household enjoyable facility in Spokane, Washington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Spokane, Washington traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Spokane logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Spokane logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get objective assessments on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo understand how essential a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of challenges, however the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Spokane, Washington book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most essential part of a published book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person sees in the book shop. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it looks like that in many instances one of the traits consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of airline flight and it was certainly a victory.

Spokane logo style utilized for marketing and also a label style for Vintage Instance includes an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this brand design I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Spokane, Washington, layout include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it appears that every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair style studio including a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design which carried a spirit of simplicity and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious path of making simply a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is oftentimes the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the importance on the perception that they wanted to project to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software developer the layout attributes and also iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo design is just as important as how it serves the company it represents.

A logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell off their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Spokane logo design dsign with a graphic which pulls in the interest of vehicles and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo design has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t actually developed for an Spokane, Washington regional farm it was in reality designed for a products broker, and this particular creative logo was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to produce a brand mark that projected esteem, financial success, and prosperity.

Spokane Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design attribute for externally facing arrowhead as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo created for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is reminiscent of a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a business logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
