Spokane Logo Design

Each and every new Spokane company knows they need a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly realize the crucial role their organization logo can perform in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo design performs more effectively than another. A company logo has a critical and sustaining influence on the growth of a company, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Spokane companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Spokane coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening up in an older part of town and really wanted to project an old-fashioned atmosphere without coming across as boring or low energy. I achieved both jobs by means of developing a sign concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria developed for Spokane medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the laboratory examination of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members fun center in Spokane.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Spokane travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Spokane logo but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Spokane logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get honest opinions on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design recognize how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo job possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, but the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Spokane book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most necessary part of a published book because it is in most cases the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects folks tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a good sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Spokane logo style used for advertising and also a label design for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Spokane, design consist of an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design projects because it seems that every single dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair style studio featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo which projected a sense of ease and class for their new hair salon. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious course of crafting merely a stylized orchid but rather delivered a company logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is in most cases the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the main focus on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo design for a software application designer the style functions and also legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a logo design is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Spokane logo design dsign using a graphic that garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually created for an Spokane regional farm it was really created for an investments broker, and this brand was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to create a brand mark that projects confidence, success, and opulence.
Logo design developed for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font that is evocative a well-known sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to develop a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
