Sunnyside Logo Design

Each and every new Sunnyside organization knows they require a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly understand the essential role their business logo can take in their becoming successful, or exactly why one business logo performs more effectively than another. A company logo has an immediate and long-term impact on the success of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Sunnyside businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Sunnyside coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an older section of the community and hoped to visualize an old-fashioned feel without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks by means of developing a logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria made for Sunnyside clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable center in Sunnyside.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and also a tree - created for Sunnyside travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Sunnyside logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Sunnyside logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get neutral judgements on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo realize how essential a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo design project has it’s share of obstacles, however the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Sunnyside publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most critical part of a printed book given that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems that in many cases one of the traits individuals often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

Sunnyside logo style made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an archaic font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Sunnyside, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it seems that virtually every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair style studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo that communicated an atmosphere of simplicity and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious route of crafting simply a stylized orchid but instead delivered a business logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is in most cases the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the attention on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software program programmer the style functions and iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Sunnyside business logo dsign utilizing an illustration which pulls in the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an Sunnyside regional farm it was really created for an investments broker, and this logo design was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to design a brand mark that projects confidence, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo design created for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is similar to a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a business logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
