West Virginia Logo Design

Every new West Virginia  company knows they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs entirely realize the essential role their organization logo can take in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo functions far better than another. A logo design has a critical and long term impact on the prosperity of a company, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help West Virginia businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand consideration, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a West Virginia coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were opening in an older part of the community and really wanted to project a vintage feel without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks via developing a trademark design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs made for West Virginia clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that deals with the clinical examination of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family members enjoyable center in West Virginia.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - made for West Virginia traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather project emotional experiences through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  West Virginia  logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

West Virginia logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get honest judgements on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their business logo comprehend how important a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s portion of challenges, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for West Virginia publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most crucial part of a printed book since it is often the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it seems that in many instances one of the items consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was surely a victory.

West Virginia logo layout used for advertising as well as a tag layout for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in West Virginia, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects considering that it appears that virtually every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually enjoy doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which related a feeling of relaxation and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious path of creating just a stylized orchid but instead designed a logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is in most cases the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the attention on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo layout developed for a horse cattle ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

By having an identifiable head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly immediately recognizable horse types in the entire world.

Las Cafe logo design a small restaurant, design contains a modified script font which hovers over a group of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a little dining establishment, style consists of a modified manuscript font style which floats above a team of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the style attributes and also iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

Advance logo layout created for a West Virginia indoor designer, layout function a collection of red circles that converge and change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

logo style done for Advanced Leadership Solutions, the personalities for letter V and also A in center of words advanced have actually been modified to tie straight into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular West Virginia logo design assignment was carried out for a leadership expert that helps business leaders to develop into more effective at handling people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to market their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their West Virginia logo design utilizing an illustration which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually created for an West Virginia  farm it was really designed for a products broker, and this creative logo was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to develop a brand mark that projected self-assurance, financial success, and prosperity.

West Virginia Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style function for outwardly encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the first try.

Logo developed for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked closely with the business owner to design a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
