Appleton Logo Design

Each and every new Appleton organization realizes that they require a logo, yet few new business owners entirely grasp the vital role their company logo can play in their success, or exactly why one logo design works far better than another. A business logo has a critical and long-term influence on the growth of a business, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Appleton companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand contemplation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Appleton coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were opening up in an old section of the area and wanted to cast a vintage atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs by means of developing a business logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria developed for Appleton clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that works with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recollect in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family fun center in Appleton.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - developed for Appleton travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Appleton logo but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Appleton logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get objective viewpoints on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their business logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo project possesses it’s portion of obstacles, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Appleton book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, however it is the most necessary part of a published book because it is in most cases the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it looks like that in many cases one of the things individuals often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a good sense of airline flight and it was certainly a success.

Appleton logo layout used for advertising and marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this custom logo design I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Appleton, design include an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design jobs because it appears that virtually every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design that related a feeling of simplicity and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious path of designing merely a stylized orchid but instead crafted a business logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is in most cases the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo style for a software application programmer the style features and also famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to sell off their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Appleton logo dsign with an illustration which captures the interest of vehicles and sends an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t really designed for an Appleton area farm it was in reality developed for a products broker, and this company logo was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to generate an identity that projects trust, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo design designed for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is reminiscent of a well-known sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a business logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
