Eau Claire, Wisconsin Logo Design

Each and every new Eau Claire business understands that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly realize the vital role their logo design will play in their financial success, or the reason that one logo performs far better than another. A business logo has a critical and lasting effect on the growth of a business, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Eau Claire, Wisconsin companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand consideration, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bike created for a Eau Claire, Wisconsin coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening up in an old section of the community and hoped to project a retro vibe without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks via designing a business logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria created for Eau Claire, Wisconsin clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a family fun facility in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - created for Eau Claire, Wisconsin travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead reveal emotional journeys by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Eau Claire logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Eau Claire logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his hatred for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo design understand how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo project possesses it’s share of challenges, however the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Eau Claire, Wisconsin publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, but it is the most essential part of a printed book because it is in most cases the primary thing a person views in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it seems that in many instances 1 of the items individuals tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a feeling of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Eau Claire logo design made use of for marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Case features an antiquated font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that every single dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dentists do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually really love doing dental care business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair style studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo that conveyed an atmosphere of relaxation and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious direction of designing just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is oftentimes the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the focus on the perception that they wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo design a small restaurant, layout consists of a customized script font which hovers over a team of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software application designer the design attributes and also legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the significance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the business it represents.

Advance logo design created for a Eau Claire, Wisconsin indoor developer, layout attribute a series of red circles that converge as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

logo style provided for Advanced Management Solutions, the personalities for letter V as well as A in middle of words progressed have been customized to connect straight right into words below.

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to market their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Eau Claire logo dsign using a graphic which captures the attention of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t actually designed for an Eau Claire, Wisconsin area farm it was actually created for an investments broker, and this particular company logo was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to make a brand mark that projected self-assurance, success, and affluence.

Eau Claire Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo style function for outwardly encountering arrow and the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the opportunity to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo design made for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font that is similar to a famous sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to design a logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
