POINTERS FOR DETERMINING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design agency presents a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can’t reimburse the amount of time you commit which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but inevitably a design agency can only be evaluated from the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain real life samples chances are they will never be able to deliver a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s goal is to mirror your personal vision for your company. If a designer is not focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how soon they will get paid.

Kenosha LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds develop notable brands. We’ve undertaken logo design work for builders, educational institutions, diamond miners, wedding singers, cafes, retailers, and practically every other kind of business concern you can envision. What makes us unique compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every branding project as though it will be utilized as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first strategy our designs can, and have been utilized in everything from fashion labels to electrical signs. Our sign first method guarantees that our logo designs are equally reliable whether they are used in television commercials or website applications, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and remembered regardless of scale or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference which really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design firms that you might possibly have found on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are contracted to perform, we perform ourselves. No matter the kind of project we undertake, logo, website, trade show display, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will contract out our customer’s work to companies based outside the US. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that increases the cost of your design project and dictates the terms of how we conduct business.

QUALITIES OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Kenosha company realizes that they need a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly grasp the pivotal role their logo will perform in their financial success, or why one logo works better than another. A logo design has an instant and long-term impact on the financial success of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Kenosha companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require deliberation, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to store signs a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the item or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be lasting and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It is a verb and a noun, it is an identifying mark as well as the process of denoting something to ensure that it can be identified, its genesis comes from the mark branded onto livestock. These days a brand signifies pretty much anything with an objective, regardless if it be profit or government agencies, a brand is an inherent aspect of defining the value of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s attractive sister, they are each from the exact same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition targeted at a specific audience, it’s goal is to produce an image that the target market can relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and identity design. When someone mentions the names Porsche or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes people purchase those products. Brand image is why people acquire most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you look back at the history of the majority of branding firms you’ll find that they are often rebranded advertising and marketing companies. When somebody says they are in advertising many people will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. However when someone claims “I’m in branding”… it simply seems much more impressive, possibly it’s since the majority of people do not understand what it indicates to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that explains the visual components of a product or agency that affect understandings. This mainly consists of the name, the logo, the packaging, the colors utilized however can additionally include audio, lighting, texture, signage, actually anything that can be seen, felt or heard belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that concentrates on a type of visual design which helps form the public image of a company, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, packaging, and also collateral products such as business cards, stationery, as well as pamphlets. Some visual designers also develop websites and also software interfaces. The necessary duty of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the goal of influencing activities, outcomes as well as understandings.

select signs/logos

Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Kenosha coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an old part of the town and hoped to cast a vintage feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs by creating a sign design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs developed for Kenosha clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and much more memorable.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog designed for a household enjoyable center in Kenosha.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Kenosha traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead project emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Kenosha logo but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Kenosha logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo design comprehend how crucial a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of difficulties, however the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Kenosha book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most vital part of a published book considering that it is in most cases the primary thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems like that in many instances one of the things individuals often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was certainly a winner.

Kenosha logo style used for advertising and a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an old font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this business logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Kenosha, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging logo design jobs because it seems that virtually every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dental logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a Kenosha hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo that conveyed a feeling of calmness and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious route of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is frequently the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the focus on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian horse logo design developed for an equine ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a one-of-a-kind organization logo concept customized to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. By having a different head shape and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most easily recognizable horse breeds in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Kenosha restaurant logo design a tiny dining establishment, style includes a modified manuscript typeface which hovers above a team of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a little dining establishment, design contains a customized manuscript font which floats above a group of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the layout attributes as well as iconic Kenosha aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a business logo is just as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Develop logo style developed for a Kenoshainterior designer, layout function a collection of red circles that converge and replace the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Kenosha interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is an individual who organizes, researches, coordinates, and manages such tasks. Interior design is a diverse profession that includes conceptual development, space planning, site evaluations, programming, research, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Kenosha, the personalities for letter V and A in center of words progressed have been modified to link straight into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Kenosha logo design assignment was performed for a management consultant that assists business leaders to become more effective at handling people, expectations, and profitability.

A Kenosha business logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell their used items to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Kenosha business logo design using a graphic which pulls in the interest of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this Kenosha company logo style has actually a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really designed for an Kenosha area farm it was really created for a products broker, and this logo was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to design a brand mark that projects trust, financial success, and opulence.

Kenosha Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo design attribute for ostensibly facing arrow and the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the liberty to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo made for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is evocative a famous Kenosha sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo design that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
