Manitowoc, Wisconsin Logo Design

Each and every new Manitowoc organization realizes that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly recognize the crucial role their organization’s logo can perform in their financial success, or exactly why one logo design performs far better than another. A business logo has a critical and lasting impact on the prosperity of a business, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Manitowoc, Wisconsin companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand scrutiny, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from labels to signboards a scalable logo design will be legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be timeless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.
Retro logo style of a bike created for a Manitowoc, Wisconsin coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually launching in an older section of the city and hoped to cast an old-fashioned vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by means of designing a logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and germs made for Manitowoc, Wisconsin clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that works with the clinical examination of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more focus grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog created for a household enjoyable facility in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Manitowoc, Wisconsin traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional experiences through the images they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Manitowoc logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Manitowoc logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial opinions on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo design realize how crucial a logo design is for their business so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of challenges, but the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Manitowoc, Wisconsin book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most important part of a printed book because it is in most cases the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it looks like that in many instances one of the things people tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a spirit of flight and it was definitely a success.

Manitowoc logo design utilized for advertising and marketing and also a label style for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this business logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects because it seems that every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design that communicated a feeling of calmness and connection for their new hair studio. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious route of designing just a stylized orchid but instead crafted a company logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is frequently the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the focus on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design functions and also famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism behind a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo layout including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Manitowoc logo design dsign utilizing an illustration that seizes the interest of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t actually designed for an Manitowoc, Wisconsin regional farm it was really created for an investments broker, and this company logo was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to produce a image that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and wealth.

Manitowoc Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design feature for externally encountering arrow and the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the liberty to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo design designed for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is evocative a famous sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the owner to develop a logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
