Mequon, Wisconsin Logo Design

Every new Mequon business understands that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly realize the vital role their logo design will make in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design works better than another. A logo has an immediate and sustaining impact on the financial success of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Mequon, Wisconsin companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand scrutiny, they can be understood in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will stay legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Mequon, Wisconsin coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an older part of the area and really wanted to visualize a vintage vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks by designing a business logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and also bacteria created for Mequon, Wisconsin clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical assessment of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a household enjoyable facility in Mequon, Wisconsin.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Mequon, Wisconsin travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they often convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Mequon logo design but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Mequon logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get objective opinions on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo recognize how essential a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of difficulties, but the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Mequon, Wisconsin publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most critical part of a published book given that it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems that in many instances 1 of the aspects folks usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Mequon logo design utilized for marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Situation features an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Mequon, Wisconsin, design include an arc with lines converging through it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair layout workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design that related an atmosphere of tranquility and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious course of creating just a stylized orchid but instead created a company logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is oftentimes the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the importance on the perception that they wanted to project to their customers.

Arabian steed logo layout produced for a steed ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo layout a little dining establishment, design contains a customized script typeface which hovers over a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a tiny restaurant, layout includes a changed script typeface which hovers above a team of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software designer the layout attributes as well as renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

logo design provided for Advanced Management Solutions, the personalities for letter V as well as A in center of the word progressed have been modified to tie straight into words listed below.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Mequon logo design dsign with an illustration that garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t actually designed for an Mequon, Wisconsin area farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this trademark was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to design a brand mark that projects self-assurance, effectiveness, and wealth.

Mequon Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for ostensibly encountering arrowhead as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the flexibility to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without recognizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo designed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is reminiscent of a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the owner to develop a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
