Mequon Logo Design

Nearly every new Mequon business realizes that they are in need of a logo, however few new business owners fully recognize the crucial role their company logo will make in their success, or why one logo functions better than another. A logo design has an immediate and lasting influence on the growth of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Mequon companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be realized in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Mequon coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older part of the community and really wanted to project an old-fashioned tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both jobs via designing a company logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria designed for Mequon medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I remember where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more interest grabbing and more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog made for a family fun center in Mequon.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Mequon traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather communicate emotional experiences by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Mequon logo but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Mequon logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased judgements on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo understand how essential a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of hurdles, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Mequon book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a printed book given that it is usually the first thing a person sees in the book shop. With regard to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems like that in many cases one of the things folks usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Mequon logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing and a label style for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be vintage cases. For this brand concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Mequon, design include an arc with lines converging with it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it seems that almost every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo that projected a sense of simplicity and class for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but rather designed a business logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is more often than not the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the importance on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo layout developed for a steed cattle ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Coffee shop logo design a small restaurant, design consists of a customized script font style which floats above a team of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software designer the style attributes and also iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

Progress logo style produced for a Mequon indoor developer, style attribute a collection of red circles that converge and also change the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to sell their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Mequon logo design dsign utilizing an image which grabs the interest of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really produced for an Mequon regional farm it was actually designed for a commodities broker, and this particular business logo was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to design a graphic that projected esteem, effectiveness, and luxury.
Logo designed for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is similar to a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
