Middleton Logo Design

Nearly every new Middleton organization realizes that they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly understand the vital role their business logo can make in their becoming successful, or exactly why one business logo functions far better than another. A logo has an instant and lasting effect on the prosperity of a business, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Middleton businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand deliberation, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Middleton coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were opening in an older part of town and wished to visualize a vintage vibe without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks by designing a logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria designed for Middleton clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which examines the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which deals with the clinical assessment of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more appealing, more focus grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping green frog created for a family enjoyable center in Middleton.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Middleton travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead project emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Middleton logo but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Middleton logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial assessments on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their business logo recognize how important a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of hurdles, but the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Middleton book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, but it really is the most vital part of a published book due to the fact that it is often the first thing a person sees in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever get to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the traits people tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a good sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Middleton logo design used for advertising as well as a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that looked to be antique cases. For this custom logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Middleton, design include an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dental logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo that conveyed a sense of contentment and connection for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious course of designing simply a stylized orchid but instead designed a logo design that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is generally the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the focus on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software application developer the design attributes as well as iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to market their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Middleton logo design dsign using an image that garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t really composed for an Middleton regional farm it was really created for an investments broker, and this particular company logo was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to develop a graphic that projected confidence, effectiveness, and opulence.
Logo developed for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is evocative a famous sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to design a logo design that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
