Milwaukee, Wisconsin Logo Design

Each and every new Milwaukee business knows they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully comprehend the pivotal role their logo will perform in their success, or exactly why one logo design works more effectively than another. A business logo has an immediate and long term effect on the viability of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a business.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Milwaukee, Wisconsin businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from labels to posters a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be ageless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bike created for a Milwaukee, Wisconsin coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening up in an older part of town and really wanted to project an old-fashioned feel without coming across as boring or low energy. I accomplished the two tasks by designing a logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and also germs developed for Milwaukee, Wisconsin medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more captivating, more attention grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping green frog created for a family members enjoyable center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Milwaukee, Wisconsin traveling photographer.

Travel Don't Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead reveal emotional journeys by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable ¬†Milwaukee logo but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Milwaukee logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his hatred for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial point of views on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo design recognize how vital a logo is for their organization so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo job has it’s allotment of challenges, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Milwaukee, Wisconsin book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, however it really is the most crucial part of a published book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems that in many cases 1 of the traits folks tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a spirit of flight and it was definitely a winner.

Milwaukee logo layout used for advertising and marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Case includes an archaic font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it seems that almost every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that related a feeling of tranquility and connection for their new hair studio. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of making simply a stylized orchid but instead created a business logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is in most cases the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian steed logo design produced for a steed cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created an original custom logo design styled to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. With an identifiable head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily identifiable horse breeds in the entire world.

Las Cafe logo design a little restaurant, layout contains a customized script font style which floats over a team of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a small restaurant, design consists of a customized script typeface which hovers above a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo style for a software application designer the style functions and iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Milwaukee, Wisconsin logo design project was done for a leadership advisor that assists business professionals to become more efficient at managing people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to market their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts.
I tailored their Milwaukee logo design dsign utilizing an image that seizes the interest of traffic and sends an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really produced for an Milwaukee, Wisconsin regional farm it was in reality developed for a commodities broker, and this logo was one of a handful of which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to develop a brand mark that projected confidence, success, and affluence.

Milwaukee Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo design function for ostensibly encountering arrowhead as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without knowing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I struck a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo designed for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the business owner to create a logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
