Neenah, Wisconsin Logo Design

Virtually every new Neenah business person realizes that they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely understand the pivotal role their company logo can take in their becoming successful, or exactly why one business logo functions more effectively than another. A business logo has a critical and long term effect on the viability of a company, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Neenah, Wisconsin companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand consideration, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to billboards a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be ageless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.
Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Neenah, Wisconsin coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were launching in an older section of town and wanted to project a retro atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both tasks via creating a business logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide as well as bacteria created for Neenah, Wisconsin medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that deals with the clinical evaluation of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a family fun center in Neenah, Wisconsin.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Neenah, Wisconsin travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather communicate emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they often share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Neenah logo but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Neenah logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get impartial opinions on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their business logo realize how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s share of difficulties, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Neenah, Wisconsin book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most necessary part of a printed book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person views in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it looks like that in many cases one of the items people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a good sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

Neenah logo layout used for advertising and also a tag layout for Vintage Case features an archaic font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be used for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Neenah, Wisconsin, style include an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects because it seems that virtually every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design that communicated a sense of contentment and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious route of crafting just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a company logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is more often than not the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the focus on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo style for a software program developer the design functions and legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to market their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Neenah logo dsign using a graphic that grabs the attention of traffic and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t really produced for an Neenah, Wisconsin area farm it was really designed for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to design an identity that projects confidence, success, and affluence.

Neenah Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo design function for externally facing arrow and also the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the opportunity to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo created for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is evocative a well-known sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to create a logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
