Wauwatosa Logo Design

Virtually every new Wauwatosa company understands that they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly understand the key role their business logo will perform in their financial success, or the reason that one logo functions far better than another. A logo design has an immediate and long term impact on the success of a company, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Wauwatosa companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require contemplation, they can be realized in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Wauwatosa coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually launching in an old part of the town and hoped to project an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both of these tasks by creating a sign concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and also bacteria developed for Wauwatosa clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I remember where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a family fun facility in Wauwatosa.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Wauwatosa traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Wauwatosa logo but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Wauwatosa logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo design comprehend how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of challenges, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Wauwatosa publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most vital part of a printed book since it is usually the initial thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it seems like that in many instances 1 of the items consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a spirit of airline flight and it was definitely a success.

Wauwatosa logo design made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Instance features an old typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Wauwatosa, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects due to the fact that it seems that every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental offices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that related a feeling of ease and class for their new hair salon. I created a design that did not go the obvious course of creating simply a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a business logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is usually the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the emphasis on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian horse logo design developed for a horse cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software program designer the style functions and also iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the company it represents.

A logo style including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell off their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Wauwatosa logo dsign along with a graphic that garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t actually produced for an Wauwatosa area farm it was in reality devised for a commodities broker, and this brand was one of multiple that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to create a graphic that projects assurance, success, and prosperity.
Logo designed for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is reminiscent of a famous sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to design a logo design which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
